Unfortunately, the typical American diet is built around foods that can cause inflammation and disease. When you're dealing with stress, and a range of other negative emotions, you can experience unexpected health consequences. While every case is unique there are several factors that frequently cause back pain. The first significant factor is structural alignment being off, meaning that the joints of your back, neck, knees, feet, hands or jaw are not in the place where they should be.
This can cause pain from increased inflammation. Another issue is adrenal fatigue, which I see in the vast majority of my patients. This can be attributed to stress, poor diet, lack of hydration and emotional stressors. This is how I explain it to patients at my Elmhurst, IL chiropractic office. When the adrenal glands are constantly firing, the body thinks it's in fight or flight mode.
This is alright for a short period of time. When stress is prolonged over the course of weeks, months and years, though, it is detrimental to your health.
