In 1959, at 16 years old, Dr. E.W. Carr was unable to walk after a football injury. He was in excruciating pain. His medical doctor prescribed bed rest and pain medication.
After two weeks with no improvement, his family took him to see a Doctor of Chiropractic. Following an examination, he was diagnosed with a vertebral subluxation and was treated with spinal manipulation. After only one treatment, E.W. Carr, who had been carried into the office by his family, got up, walked out, and went to football practice.
