Dr. Lawrence Johnson graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1978 and opened his own practice in Mineola in 1979. He is licensed to practice in the states of New York and Florida. As a lifelong athlete, Dr. Johnson had a passion for sports medicine that led him to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) in 1985 and Board Eligible for Diplomate American Board of Sports Chiropractic Physicians in 1993.
Dr. Johnson has been practicing Active Release Technique (ART) since 1993 and also serves as an ART instructor. He is currently the team chiropractor for New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. Previously, he has served as the chiropractor for the Association for Tennis Professionals (ATP) in the Northeast United States as well as the ATP Hamlet Tennis Tournament for twelve years (1989-2000).
Dr. Johnson has provided chiropractic services for various MAC and AAU Track & Field Junior Olympic events and has served as the Medical/Chiropractic Director for the United States Figure Skating Association's (USFSA) Regional, Sectional, Junior National, and National Championships.
